Materials for Hydrogen Storage under the Electron Microscope
13. 2. 2024 - 21.  6. 2024

Venue: Ústav fyziky materiálů AV ČR, v. v. i., Žižkova 513/22, Brno

Supervisor: Mgr. Eva Švábenská, Ph.D.

The aim of this group is to prepare pure metal alloy samples and analyze their microstructure and phase composition. Co-Mg-Ni ternary alloy is a promising material for hydrogen storage and subsequent desorption.

In the club you will learn about sample preparation procedures, metallographic treatment for subsequent observation of samples on optical and electron microscope. You will also briefly learn about other methods of materials research: differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), phase diagrams and one of the hydrogen storage methods.
