Cryptographic Algorithms
23. 2. 2024 - 21.  6. 2024

Venue: Fakulta strojního inženýrství VUT, Technická 2, Brno

Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Miroslav Kureš, Ph.D.

We will focus on the GGH cryptosystem and students will prepare their own proposals for its implementation.

We will start with simple basics of matrix theory. Students will learn how to multiply matrices, they will learn what a determinant is. The theory will be applied in a public key cryptographic system. It will be shown that some matrix problems can be computationally intensive and that this property can be exploited in asymmetric encryption. The club will include a field trip to the FSI workplace where students will learn about the development of technical projects: e.g. Formula Student, Pneumobil, Chicken Wings.

The output will be a printed booklet with the basics of the theory and a tutorial consisting of cryptosystems designed by the students.
