About the project
Population growth, climate change, and industrial demands require innovation in agricultural biotechnology. Species of the genus Brassica, especially B. napus, are economically very important, but traditional breeding methods are reaching their limits. My project focuses on combining gene editing techniques derived from the CRISPR-Cas9 system with the hairy root transformation system to improve the efficiency and accuracy of gene editing and create a robust platform for improving Brassica crops.
Why science?
For me, science represents a wide range of possibilities for discovering and exploring previously unknown natural phenomena and using this knowledge to facilitate and improve not only human life.
What do I like most about Brno
Brno not only offers high-quality university education at leading Czech universities, but also boasts a cultural and gastronomic scene that makes it easy to find a place to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
