About the project
Growing computational power demands an increase in data storage capabilities and today this is only highlighted by the AI models and their large training datasets. It is thus crucial to develop fast and energy-efficient memory and data storage systems. Our project explores spin currents generated by a phase transition in FeRh initiated by an ultra-short laser pulse. We aim to use these spin currents to achieve such energy-efficient and ultrafast control of magnetic bits encoding digital data.
Why science?
It is in my nature to ask: "Why?" Why is the world behaving in one way and not in another? Science is the tool for me to answer at least a part of such questions and from all scientific disciplines, physics speaks to me the most directly about the nature of reality.
What do I like most about Brno
There is a friendly atmosphere in Brno and the surrounding Moravian woods and hills let one stay connected to the nature despite living in a large city. And there is also wonderful art in the public space (even beyond the well-known statues in the center).
