About the project

Plants have remarkable ability to efficiently regenerate individual organs, and the whole body. This ability is conditioned by the function of plant hormones (phytohormones), and is practically used, for example, in agriculture or horticulture. In our project, we focus on the study of a group of phytohormones - cytokinins - and their role in the regulation of the shoot regeneration from individual cells in in vitro conditions.

Why science?

Since my childhood I was amazed by Nature and during my life I was more and more interested in plants. That was one of the reasons, why I decided to study plant biology. Scientific work enriches my life with excitement of undiscovered, responsibility towards society and personal challenge.

What do I like most about Brno

Even though I am from Slovakia, my ancestors were native Moravians. That may be the reason for my smooth settling in Brno. Brno is an amazing city full of nice people and surrounded by beautiful nature. One can find here everything he needs.
