Plastic pollution, a health hazard for human body

Lector: prof. Ing. Jozef Kaiser, Ph.D.

Institution: Brno University of Technology, CEITEC VUT

Field: Advanced Materials and Nanosciences

About the project

Microplastics (MPs) can be found all around us. MP pollution represents an emerging global change threat to the terrestrial ecosystem, including human health. Particles may enter the human body through inhalation and ingestion. The project aims to enable the detection of Mps in the human body by incorporating tomographic and spectroscopic technologies. The knowledge about the presence of MPs in the human body can change the approach to the use of plastics in everyday life.

Why science?

If we don't want to live in the stereotype that one can slip into in the corporate world, working in science is a great advantage. Science brings the opportunity for self-realisation in solving new complex projects that can positively impact society through their outputs.

What do I like most about Brno

Brno is a great place not only from a work and student point of view. It has a diverse gastronomy, a rich social life and a friendly atmosphere.
