About the project

Despite scientific advances in reproductive medicine embryo development still holds a myriad of secrets. How the cell cycle machinery is modified to enable the unification and segregation of two parental genomes in the fertilized egg is fundamental to all mammals. Proposed work will shed new light on how basic cell cycle mechanisms are adapted upon transition from acentrosomal female meiosis to a mitotic division in which centrioles from a male gamete assume control of microtubule organization.

Why science?

As a society, we have been always driven by curiosity and will to explore the world around us. For me being a scientist means acknowledging this basic need and contributing to the improvement of the modern world.
