Model-based diagnostics and fault-tolerant control of electric motors

Lector: Petr Blaha

Institution: Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication

Field: Cybernetics, Control and Measurements

About the project

Nowadays, governments worldwide pay more and more attention to developing electric vehicles, which use electric motors for propulsion. These motors must operate even if faults occur to meet higher reliability standards in electric vehicles. Therefore, there is a high demand for fault diagnostics and compensation. This project aims to extend model-based fault diagnostics by parametric estimation to track the fault indicators and utilize these indicators to compensate for the fault optimally.

Why science?

I like doing things my way and feel satisfied if my solution functions. I often experience the same feeling in science when building a theory for a long time and discovering that my solution is functioning during laboratory experiments.

What do I like most about Brno

I like Brno because it has an exciting history, a rich social life and one can use many sports fields, parks and forests for recreation.
