O mém projektu
Acute and chronic myeloid leukemia (AML, CML) represent life-threatening hematological malignancies. The project aims to develop a protocol for cultivation of patient-derived (primary) cells of AML and CML in vitro with correct preservation of original disease characteristics. None of the already published models were properly described in terms of phenotypic analysis of cultured cells and the applicant’s preliminary data suggest that the current protocols induce differentiation and loss of the original disease features. A model that would accurately simulate AML and CML in vitro is mandatory for relevant drug screens and investigation of leukemia biology in a well-controlled environment.
