Cytogenetic and genomic analysis of ribosomal RNA genes in polyploid plants

The reproduction of each organism is quite unique and it is not very well described mostly in plant species. There are still lots of mysteries. Over ages the each plant genome underwent duplications and polyploidization events in recent or previous ages not only one time. Today we are speaking about diploid plant species but it is not exactly correct. In my work I am working with odd-polyploidy species with asymmetric meiosis. I am focusing on ribosomal genes which have after transcription and compacting very important role as a reader of other transcribed coding sequences. The ribosomes are organelles with functional activity. Analysis will be done on ribosomal loci 5S and 45S especially subtypes of these loci. How is the controller of genome division, Nucleolar organization region (NOR), carried to next generations? How is it going during asymmetric meiosis?
