Biomimetic peptides for active targeting of nanomedicines

Variety of ligands has been employed to achieve active targeting of nanomedicines in anticancer therapy. Though many have provided a reliable in vitro targeting to receptors overexpressed on cancer cells, their in vivo performance is insufficient. Peptides designed using in silico molecular dynamics seem to be a promising targeting ligand for targeted delivery of chemotherapeutic drugs to cancer cells, thanks to their possible more efficient in vivo performance. This project will focus on the possible use of in silico modeling for the design of targeting peptides to achieve reliable and safe targeting of cancer cells.
