O mém projektu
The novel tick-borne agent Candidatus Neoehrlichia mikurensis is one of the most common pathogens in the European tick Ixodes ricinus. Even though discovered in 2004, little is known about its attributes or structure. The aim of the proposed project is to reveal the unknown facts connected to the epidemiological transmission cycle, ultrastructure, distribution within the body of infected I. ricinus and to shed light on the reason of the “vector incompetency” of the tick Dermacentor reticulatus.
